Jiangsu Helen Chemical's PTA (Pure Terephthalic Acid) Project, jointly constructed by Jiangsu Sanfangxiang Group and Taiwan Tenglong Group, laid the foundation on July 17th in the Yanjiang Development Zone in Jiangyin City. The project has a total investment of 600 million U.S. dollars and an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of PTA. It is expected to be completed in 2 years, and the annual sales revenue will increase by more than 10 billion yuan.

Jiangsu Sanfangxiang Group is a well-known domestic chemical fiber manufacturer. In 2004, it ranked 265 among the top 500 Chinese enterprises, and its main industry polyester production capacity reached 1.6 million tons. The annual demand for polyester raw material PTA exceeds 1.2 million tons. The Dragon Group is composed of several Taiwan-funded enterprises and is mainly engaged in the production of chemical raw materials and chemical fiber spinning in the mainland.
