Analysis of the Import of Compressors for Refrigeration Equipment in China in the First Half of 2012

In the first half of 2012, the import value of compressors for refrigeration equipment in China was US$546 million, a decrease of 9.3% year-on-year; the number of imports was 6.651 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 6.0%; the average import price was US$83.84 per unit, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5%.

In the month of June, the import value of compressors for refrigeration equipment in China was US$90,226,600, which was a year-on-year decrease of 10.8% and a month-on-month decrease of 16.7%; the import volume was 1,102,200 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.7% and a month-on-month decrease of 5.3%; the average import price was US$81.89. / Taiwan, a year-on-year decrease of 18.6%, a decrease of 12.1% from the previous quarter.

Calculated according to the amount of imports, Japan, South Korea and Thailand are the top three sources of compressors for refrigeration equipment in China. In the first half of 2012, China imported 117 million U.S. dollars from Japan, a decrease of 21.8 percent year-on-year; imported 92.589 million U.S. dollars from South Korea, an increase of 18.6 percent from the same period last year; and imported 89.987 million U.S. dollars from Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 12.4 percent. Among them, Japan’s market share decreased from 24.9% in the first half of 2011 to 21.5% in the first half of 2012; Korea’s market share increased from 13.0% in the first half of 2011 to 16.9% in the first half of 2012; Thailand’s market share From 17.0% in the first half of 2011 to 16.5% in the first half of 2012.

In the first half of 2012, China imported a total of US$500 million in compressors for refrigeration equipment from the top 10 importing countries and regions, which accounted for 91.5% of the total imports of compressors for refrigeration equipment in China during the first half of the year. The 4th to 10th imported countries and regions are re-imports, the United States, Germany, Singapore, Taiwan, Brazil, and the Netherlands.
