Do not ignore engine maintenance

First, grinding: that is, running-in is to extend the life of the diesel engine, whether it is a new or overhauled after the oil machine, must be carried out in accordance with the provisions before being put into normal operation.

Second, the net: that is, oil net, water net, net net and locomotive net. Diesel is the main fuel of the engine. If the diesel is not clean, the precision coupling parts will be worn out, the clearance will increase, and the oil drop, oil leakage, and oil supply pressure will be insufficient, combustion will worsen, and the power will drop. Similarly, if the oil is not clean, there will be abrasive wear between the journal and the bearing, the gap will become larger, the oil pressure will drop, and even cause serious accidents such as blockage of the oil passage and burning of the shaft. If the air contains a lot of dust, it will accelerate the wear of cylinder liners, pistons and piston rings and shorten the service life. If the cooling water is not clean, it will increase the scale of the cooling system, affect the engine heat dissipation, increase the temperature of the engine, deteriorate the lubrication conditions, and cause serious wear and tear on the parts. If the exterior of the locomotive is not clean, there will be many dirt, which will cause the surface of the body to be corroded and affect its life.

Third, check: that is, always check the fastening parts. Due to the impact of vibration and uneven load on the diesel engine during use, the bolts and nuts are liable to loosen, especially connecting bolts at connecting rods, cylinder heads, and flywheel housings.

Fourth, the foot: the oil foot, water foot, air foot. If the diesel or air supply is not timely or interrupted, it will cause difficulty in starting, poor combustion, black smoke, power drop, and the locomotive cannot operate normally. If the oil supply is in short supply or is interrupted, the locomotive will be poorly lubricated, the parts will be seriously worn, and even burning of tiles will occur. If the cooling water is insufficient, the engine temperature will be too high, the power will drop, and the life will be reduced.

V. Adjustment: The valve clearance, gas distribution phase, decompression clearance, fuel supply advance angle and fuel injection pressure of the diesel engine shall all be checked and adjusted in time to ensure that the engine is always in a good technical condition.
