Targeting heavy-duty automotive steel demand, Handan Iron & Steel recently successfully developed and manufactured Q420L mid-plate automobile girder steel with a thickness specification of 16mm for high-strength heavy-duty vehicles. The reporter learned from relevant departments that this product not only fills the gap in our province, but also has a promising market. It is more than 150 yuan more than ordinary mid-ton steel and it is the highest grade steel grade developed in the middle plate line of Handan Iron and Steel Company.
According to reports, the Q420L automobile girder plate is a high-strength structural steel with a strength requirement of 25% higher than that of ordinary low-alloys. It requires high technical parameters and is difficult to produce. Handan Iron & Steel and the leading axle manufacturer in China, Qingdao Qingte Zhongli Axle Co., Ltd. have signed more than 2,000 tons of product development agreement. After inspection, the first batch of steel performance indicators fully meet the requirements of the technical agreement. At present, 1050 tons of products are being sent to Qingdao Qingtezhongli Axle Co., Ltd. in succession.
