The list shows that Wuling Hongguang and Baojun 730, which are known as the world's most successful joint ventures, are the most eye-catching in the production of 60,500 vehicles and 25,506 vehicles. Dongfeng Liuqi's popular productions of Jingyi and Fengxing Lingzhi ranked third and sixth with sales of 13,050 vehicles and 9,500 vehicles.
According to the data of the China Automobile Association, China sold a total of 178,321 MPVs in October, a year-on-year increase of 35.9%. The four MPV products produced by Liuzhou Automobile Company sold 108,556 units in October, accounting for 60.9% of the Chinese market.
Among the major consumer clusters of MPV cars in China's second- and third-tier cities, MPVs with low prices, large space and practical configuration can meet the needs of Chinese auto consumers for both home and business use, and thus have won the favor of many Chinese consumers.
From January to October this year, China's MPV sales totaled 1,466,856 units, a year-on-year increase of 44%, while Liuzhou's four MPV products sold 859,925 units in the first 10 months, accounting for 58.6% of China's total sales.
Lu Hao, chief engineer of the Liuzhou Industrial and Information Committee, said that China's auto market is upgrading and user demand is upgrading. SAIC-GM-Wuling and Dongfeng Liuqi are keenly aware of the changes in demand in the main market with a unique strategic vision. The 7-seat MPV for home and business is defined as a key category for future product development, thus occupying a strong share of the Chinese MPV market.
Liuzhou, Guangxi, which has the production base of China's four major automobile groups, officially plans to produce 2.5 million vehicles in Liuzhou by 2015.
