Shanghai Shipyard's new generation of Carlsam bulk carrier passed the appraisal

Recently, the overall technology of a new generation of 82,000 tons of Karsam-type energy-saving and environmentally-friendly bulk carriers independently researched and developed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute has reached the international advanced level. The actual construction and operation effect is good and passed the appraisal. This is the information from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China Shipbuilding Corporation that the "82,000 tons of Karsam-type energy-saving and environmentally friendly bulk carrier development and design and construction technology" was held.
It is reported that the ship has a total length of 229 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, a depth of 20.05 meters, and a design draft of 12.2 meters. It fully utilizes the existing mature technology and has the characteristics of low energy consumption, safety, reliability, flexible operation and easy maintenance. It can meet the requirements of the current regulations and the future maritime regulations for energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection.
The ship began development in April 2009, and the first actual shipbuilding contract was signed in April 2010. The first ship was delivered in November 2011. As of the end of February this year, the relevant enterprises have received nearly 30 construction orders for this type of ship, and delivered more than 20 ships, and their performance has been well received by shipowners.
