State-Owned Power Supply and Demand from January to April 2010

As of the end of April, the State Grid Corporation of China had a capacity of 69.219 million kilowatts of power generation equipment, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%, of which hydropower, thermal power, nuclear power and new energy accounted for 19.52%, 77.42%, 0.73% and 2.33%, respectively. From January to April, the newly added capacity of the company's operating area was 22.614 million kilowatts.

From January to April, the company's operating area generated 1039.77 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 23.9%. Among them, hydropower increased by 13.2% year-on-year, thermal power increased by 25.1%, nuclear power increased by 1.2%, and wind power increased by 94.5%.

From January to April, the total electricity consumption of the company’s operating area was 1,057,900 million kWh, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%. Among them, the primary industry grew by 9.9% year-on-year, the secondary industry grew by 26.5%, the tertiary industry increased by 18.2%, and the household electricity consumption increased by 16.4%, of which industrial electricity consumption increased by 26.4%. Driven by the economic upswing and the low base of the same period, the electricity consumption of the entire society, especially industrial electricity, has continued to rise since June of last year, which is much higher than that of other industries.
